CleanBreath is a free service that shows no-smoking zones and smoking areas on a map. Green marks no-smoking zones, and orange, red and purple mark smoking areas. In the Apartments tab, you can check whether an apartment complex has designated its hallways, stairs, elevators and underground parking as no-smoking zones.
Anyone can suggest a new area on the Suggest an area page. Suggested areas are posted on the board, and once one gets 20 or more “Correct” votes, it is added to the map automatically in the daily update at 3 a.m. (Korea time). You can vote without logging in (a random ID stored in your browser prevents duplicate votes).
No-smoking zones are designated under Article 9 of Korea’s National Health Promotion Act. See No-smoking zone laws for the rules for each type of facility, and About CleanBreath for who runs the service and how the data is managed.
